Healing With Nutrition
What Is Holistic Nutrition?

What is holistic nutrition, and how is it different from regular nutrition? Holistic nutrition is an area of study that approaches healing through the integration of mind, body, and spirit.

The term "holistic" is derived from the Greek word meaning "whole," and it reflects the belief that wellness is achieved through healing the whole person. The primary focus of holistic healing is to identify and repair the root cause of an illness, rather than simply attacking the symptoms.

Holistic nutritionists are not medical doctors, so they don't utilize prescriptions, special equipment, or expensive medical bills. Instead, holistic nutritionists provide educational plans designed to adjust dietary and lifestyle habits. The approach is client-centered, and involves ongoing conversations and evaluations designed to benefit the healing process.

Holistic Nutritionists can work independently to support health and wellness goals, or work closely with a physician to devise a dietary approach for improving existing diagnoses.
The body is an amazing organism!

Our bodies can manufacture just about everything they need to be strong and healthy, as long as they have the necessary resources to do so. Holistic Nutrition is designed to maximize the natural effectiveness of the body, and to provide resources to optimally support its needs.

Most illnesses in our bodies occur because of damage created by outside forces (bacteria, viruses, poor diet, toxins or pollutants), or a lack of necessary tools (nutrients) needed for repairs. Almost all illnesses or health conditions can be improved with the added support of helpful nutrients.

Health issues including PMS, diabetes, cancer, heart disease, obesity, GERD, asthma, ADD/ADHD, anxiety, depression, cardiovascular disease, IBS, frequent colds, flu, allergies, and many other illnesses have all been linked to diet, and all can be improved with Holistic Nutrition.
